SCHEME OF EXAMINATION
The examination shall be conducted according to the following plan:-
Part-I WRITTEN EXAMINATION – (500 marks) – The candidates will take the written examination in two Papers, each Paper carrying a maximum of 250 marks. Each Paper will be of two hours duration.
Part-II Personality Test carrying 100 marks of such of the candidates who qualify on the results of the written examination.
(A) Written Examination: The components and syllabus of two Papers and the weightage to different components in the two papers are given below: –

2. The written examination in both the papers will be completely of objective (Multiple choice answer) type. The question Papers (Test Booklets) will be set in English only.

3.Candidates must write the Papers in their own hand. In no circumstances will they be allowed the help of a scribe to write answers for them.

4. The Commission have discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or both the papers of the examination.
5. Penalty for wrong answers
There will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the objective type question papers.
(i) There are four alternatives for the answers to every question. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one third (0.33) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.
(ii) If a candidate gives more than one answer, it will be treated as a wrong answer even if one of the given answers happens to be correct and there will be same penalty as above for that question.
(iii)If a question is left blank i.e. no answer is given by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

6.Candidates are not permitted to use calculators for answering objective type papers. They should, therefore not bring the same inside the Examination Hall.
(B)PERSONALITY TEST – (100 marks) – Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for Interview/Personality Test to be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. The Interview/Personality Test will carry 100 marks.
The interview for Personality Test will be intended to serve as a supplement to the written examination for testing the General Knowledge and ability of the candidates in the fields of their academic study and also in the nature of a personality test to assess the candidate’s intellectual curiosity, critical powers of assimilation, balance of judgment and alertness of mind, ability for social cohesion, integrity of character, initiative and capability for leadership.

For MMG-S-II to SMG-S-IV:Only the short-listed candidates would be called for interview taking into consideration the various attributes like educational qualifications, experience under relevant area, the length of experience and the relevancy of the experience to the post notified by the Bank and at the discretion of the Bank. The Bank reserves the right to call only the requisite number of candidates for the interview after preliminary screening/short-listing with reference to candidates’ aforesaid attributes, etc.
Final selection will be on the basis of the merit ranking in the interview.

For Probationary Assistant Managers –JMG-S- I:
The written test will consist of an objective test as well as Descriptive test.
a) Objective Test:

The objective test except for the Test of English Language will be printed in Hindi and English. Wrong answers will result in negative marks. Candidatesshould secure a minimum of 30% (25% for SC/ST Candidates) in each of the above papers, subject to a total average of 40% (35% for SC/ST Candidates) as qualifying marks.

b) Descriptive Test:
Assessment of Wealth of ideas, higher order cognitive abilities, organization of ideas in a logical coherent manner to assess knowledge on socioeconomic developments, written communication skill, etc. in a concise manner.
Details of the Test
5 compulsory questions with internal options for 100 marks. Duration: 1 hour. Option to answer either in Hindi or English.
Qualifying Marks
Minimum 40% (35% for SC/ST candidates),but marks so obtained are not reckoned for merit ranking.
c) Interview:
i) Only those candidates who have secured the minimum qualifying marks stipulated for written test (i.e., Objective as well as Descriptive) shall be called for interview depending upon the ranking as per the marks obtained by them in the objective test.
ii) Only those candidates who rank sufficiently high in the written test will be called for interview. Mere eligibility/pass in the test shall not vest any right in a candidate for being called for interview.
iii) Interview shall be conducted to assess the personality traits having bearing on general demeanor, interpersonal competence, adaptability, courtesy, self confidence & temperament and communication skills.
iv) Maximum marks for interview shall be 75 with minimum qualifying marks of 40% (35% for SC/ST candidates). The Bank reserves the right if it so desires to hold a second stage of written test on the basis of order of merit in the written test of first stage as referred above. If the second stage of written test is held the subsequent process of interview and further process would be on the basis of order of merit of the second stage test.
d) Final selection will be on the basis of the merit ranking arrived as under:

SELECTION PROCESS: The eligible candidates will have to undertake a written test comprising of questions in related discipline, Logical Reasoning and General Knowledge, quantitative aptitude, etc. at test centers in Jabalpur, Indore, Bhopal and Gwalior. The written test is likely to be held in the month of October/ November 2011. The number of cities / centers for written test and the date of written test may change on the discretion of MPPGCL. Candidates have to fill two preferences for Test Cities and no request for change, in any circumstances, will be considered subsequently. Based on the requirement & merit, the successful candidates will be called for Personal interview at Jabalpur for final selection.

TRAINING DURATION AND STIPEND: All the selected candidates for ET/ JET will undergo a 12 months training (extendable up to 24 months). PA (ITI) Trainee will undergo a 09 months training. If the performance of a candidate during training is not found satisfactory, his/ her selection shall be liable for cancellation. After successful completion of training, the candidates shall be given regular appointment in appropriate cadres of the Company. The Executive Trainee, Junior Engineer (Trainee) & Plant Assistant (ITI) Trainee shall be paid a fixed monthly stipend @ Rs.15,600/- , Rs. 9,300/- & Rs.5,200/- respectively during the training period.

ABOUT TEST: The information regarding the written test shall be made available on our web site www.mppgenco.nic.in from time to time. The written test is scheduled to be held tentatively in the month of October/ November 2011. The exact date, time and venue of the written test and information regarding dispatch of Admit Cards to the eligible candidates, with guidelines of the test, will be available at least 15 days prior to the schedule of examination.
