The Gujarat University was conceived in the nineteen twenties in the minds of public-spirited and learned men like Gandhiji, Sardar Patel, Acharya Anandshankar B. Dhruva, Dada Saheb Mavlankar, Kasturbhai Lalbhai and many others. However, the University could come into existence only after the achievement of independence.In 1949, the University was incorporated under the Gujarat University Act of the State Government ‘as a teaching and affiliating University.’ This was done as a measure of decentralisation and reorganization of University education in the then Province of Bombay.
During the course of its life of more than five decades, the University has seen the establishment of seven more Universities which were carved out of the jurisdiction of the Gujarat University, viz., Sardar Patel University, Saurashtra University, Bhavnagar University, South Gujarat University, Gujarat Ayurveda University, Gujarat Agricultural University and North Gujarat University. Even then, the Gujarat University is the largest university in the state catering to the needs of higher education of more than two lakh students scattered over 235 colleges, 15 recognised institutions and 24 approved institutions. There are 34 Post-Graduate University departments and 221 P.G. Centres.

Haryana Staff Selection Commission Result of JBT Teachers
1.On the basis of interviews held in the months of August and September, 2011, the Commission has finalized the Result for the under mentioned category of post. The candidates with following roll numbers have been selected. The result has been shown roll number wise and category wise and the marks secured by the last selected candidate in each category have been shown in bracket.
2. The interviews of the eligible candidates who are working on the posts of JBT Teacher as guest teachers and impleaded as petitioners and also applied against Advt. No. 4/2009, Category No. 01 have already been conducted in compliance of interim orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in SLP No. 9247 of 2010-Gopal Singh & ors and other connected petitions after due publication of public notices dated 26.8.2010 & 30.8.2010 in various newspapers. However, result of such candidates is not required to be declared unless directed by the Hon’ble Apex Court. The above said result will further be subject to the final decision of Hon’ble Apex Court in the aforesaid SLPs.
3. The allocation of Districts to the selected candidates will be made by the Primary Education Department, Haryana keeping in view the options of the candidates and the availability of vacancies in the Districts.

The University started functioning from 1st January, 1967 with Prof.Parsuram Mishra as the first Vice-Chancellor.
The University was inaugurated on 4th January, 1967 by Hon’ble Chancellor A.N.Khosla. The University started functioning in 1967 in a rented private building at Dhanupali, Sambalpur and in Government building at Ainthapali, Sambalpur from 1968 – 72. In the year 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla.

In consonance with this expansion, in 1973 the University moved into a new campus ‘Jnana Bharathi’ (JB) located on a sprawling 1,100 acres of land and shifted many of its post-graduate departments to this newly established campus.
At present, the JB Campus houses the administrative office a large number of post-graduate departments, Directorates, Centres of higher learning, Gandhi Bhavan, Ambedkar Bhavan, NSS Bhavan, Outdoor Stadium and other support services. The Central College Campus retained as the city campus houses the main examination wing with the office of Registrar Evaluation, city offices of the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Finance (Examination part), Academic Staff College, Directorate of Correspondence Courses and Distance Education Centre, Directorate of College Development Council, a few postgraduate departments and support services.
Besides, the college also has the Central College Cricket Pavilion where the Karnataka State Cricket Association was first established and trained several cricketers of International repute. Apart from this, in the vicinity of the city campus, the University has two constituent colleges, the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (U.V.C.E started in 1917). The third constituent college, the University College of Physical Education (formerly known as the Government College of Physical Education, started in 1959) is located in the JB Campus. Individual intimation regarding the date and time of the Oral Test will be sent to the candidates separately:-

The candidates whose Register numbers are found in the above list have been admitted provisionally to the Oral Test based on the marks obtained by them in the Written Examination and with reference to the rule of reservation of appointments. The admission of candidates to Oral Test is provisional subject to verification and acceptance of their claim in their applications towards age, educational qualification, workshop and driving experience, community etc., through original documents. If any of their claims are found to be false or incorrect, they will not be admitted to the Oral Test.
2. The candidates who have appeared for the Written Examination and whose Register Numbers are not found in the above list have not been admitted to the Oral Test.

Jiwaji University was established as a teaching and affiliating University on 23rd May 1964, under the provision of M. P. Government Ordinance no. 15 of 1963. Dr. Sarwapalli Radhakrishanan, the then President of India, laid the foundation stone of the University Campus on 11th December 1964.Right from its inception, Jiwaji University started with a status of a residential and an affiliating University. The territorial jurisdiction of the affiliation extends to six districts of Gwalior and Chambal Division, viz., Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Guna, Shivpuri and Datia. To begin with, the University had a total of 29 affiliated colleges. Those have steadily increased to more than 100 colleges. Till date of 26 Government and 7 non-Government colleges impart teaching up to postgraduate level. Some of the colleges have also developed into recognized research centers.
